Dear Students,
Welcome to Oakridge College.
Whether you are beginning your first term, returning to continue your studies, or joining us through a new program, you are now part of an academic community with a long responsibility to Briarmont and to one another.
Oakridge was founded on the belief that education should be useful, thoughtful, and grounded in care. Our students are expected to learn seriously, ask questions, challenge themselves, and take part in campus life with maturity and respect.
This Student Handbook explains the basic expectations, rights, responsibilities, and procedures that apply to students at Oakridge. It includes information about academic life, student conduct, academic integrity, advising, residence life, clubs and organizations, campus safety, discipline, appeals, and selected college policies.
The handbook is not meant to replace good judgment. It is meant to help you understand how Oakridge works and where to turn when you need guidance.
Students should remember that their choices affect more than themselves. They affect classmates, faculty, staff, residence halls, student organizations, college events, and the wider Briarmont community. A strong college depends on students who are willing to learn, participate, disagree with respect, take responsibility, and help maintain a safe and fair campus.
When you are unsure what to do, ask. Speak with your faculty advisor, Student Affairs, your Residence Assistant, Campus Security, or another appropriate college authority. Oakridge is a community, and students are not expected to navigate it alone.
