304 - Patient Participation
304.1 THE PATIENT IS A PARTICIPANT
Patients should remain involved throughout their treatment. The patient is an active participant, not simply someone receiving treatment.
304.2 STANDARD
Doctors and nurses should:
- Ask questions.
- Explain findings.
- Discuss treatment options.
- Encourage responses.
- Avoid carrying the entire scene alone.
