The short, human version of how we keep Briarmont welcoming — and what isn't allowed.
Briarmont works because people look after it. These are the basics. The full charter lives on the Policies page, and staff are always reachable on Discord if you are unsure about any of it.
HUD and titler onBoth are expected whenever you are roleplaying in shared spaces.
Respect the personThere is someone behind the avatar. OOC harassment is never okay.
Consent for big beatsIC conflict is agreed between players, not forced on one of them.
Moderate in publicBriarmont’s regions are Moderate-rated. Explicit content stays in private, access-restricted spaces.
Disputes go to staffNot to civic channels, and not to the middle of someone else’s scene.
Ask when unsureNobody is expected to know everything on day one.Note. Breaking these can mean a warning or removal, but the goal is always a good scene for everyone, not rules for their own sake.
How this is actually enforced
On pattern, not on incidents. One slip is nothing, and nobody is keeping a file on you. A repeat problem escalates the way any Covenant breach does: a private word first, then a formal warning, then removal if it keeps happening.
That is deliberate. The point is to catch the person who keeps doing it, not the person who got it wrong once on their first week.
If something goes wrong
Take it to staff on Discord rather than to local chat or a civic channel. If a scene is going somewhere you did not agree to, you are allowed to stop it. Saying so out of character is always fair, and it is not rude.
